Chun-Yan Lim, PI | 林俊彦 研究员
Dr. Chun-Yan Lim is a Group Leader at the Guangzhou National Laboratory, Guangzhou, China. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the National University of Singapore in 2013 and completed his early postdoctoral training at A*STAR, where he studied the molecular mechanisms of insulin-regulated glucose homeostasis and hormone secretion.
From December 2015 to August 2020, Dr. Lim was an American Heart Association (AHA) Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Roberto Zoncu at the University of California, Berkeley. There, he investigated how inter-organelle membrane contacts function as metabolic signaling hubs to coordinate cell growth and organelle fitness.
In October 2020, Dr. Lim launched his independent research program in Guangzhou. His group investigates the regulatory mechanisms of inter-organelle communication that govern cellular homeostasis in health and disease. His research is supported by the National High-level Talents Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Overseas Experts Supporting Programs, and the Guangzhou Leading Talents Initiative.
